These classic meatballs go fantastically with some mashed potato and roasted vegetables as well as a little lingonberry jam for a sweet and slightly sour dip.
Makes: 4-6 servings || Takes: 30 Minutes
2 dl breadcrumbs
2-3 tsp salt
2 dl milk
3-4 tbsp butter
500 g minced pork
2 white onions
½ tsp ground allspice
½ tsp ground black pepper
1 dl sugar
500 g frozen lingonberries
Peel and chop the onions finely.
In a bowl mix the chopped onions with the spices, breadcrumbs, eggs and milk.
Allow to rest (2 minutes) before adding the minced meat.
Blend everything together using your hands.
Wet your hands with a little cold water and shape the mixture into small meatballs.
Fry in butter in a frying pan using a medium heat.
Serve with lingonberry jam and mashed potatoes.
Mix the frozen berries and the sugar.
Allow to defrost in room temperature.
Keep in a jar in the fridge.
