Ancaster woman wins suite of European kitchen appliances in Win With Extreme Makeover contest
(Oakville, ON) All it took was one online entry in the Win With Extreme Home Makeover contest for Ancaster resident Rose Marie Gumbley to become the lucky winner of a suite of luxury European kitchen appliances, including a stainless steel dishwasher and 30” freestanding range from Porter & Charles, and a CS 1640 30” refrigerator from Germany-based Liebherr. The Grand Prize package of appliances was provided by Euro-Line Appliances Inc., and has a retail value of over $8,000. Euro-Line has been importing and distributing fine European appliances to the North American market for over 20 years, specializing in premium brands such as AEG-Electrolux, Faber, Liebherr, Porter & Charles and Franke sinks and plumbing products.
The Win With Extreme Home Makeover contest launched on February 8, 2009. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, hosted by popular TV personality Ty Pennington airs Sundays at 8pm ET/PT on E! in Canada. From the launch date of the contest until its close on April 12, 2009, viewers were invited to enter for a chance to win the Grand Prize suite of kitchen appliances. They simply had to go online and complete an entry form, and provide the “secret word” announced during that evening’s episode.
Gumbley, a regular viewer of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, only entered the contest once. Nonetheless, hers was the lucky online ballot selected from over 50,000 eligible entries. “When they called to say I had won I thought they must be joking,” Gumbley recalled. “I thought this can’t be true, but it is. The appliances were delivered, are in my kitchen, and I am just thrilled to have them. What a wonderful surprise it is to win!”

To enter viewers had to tune into Extreme Home Makeover, and submit an online entry complete with a “secret word” that was announced during the broadcast.
