Advances in technology have allowed us to develop a revolutionary new enamel for the interior oven walls. This triple glazed enamel is much less porous than predecessors creating a surface that has glass-like characteristics. With the addition of a new non-stick component, Porter & Charles has created an enamel surface that is brilliantly effective and easy to clean. To further assist with cleaning, Porter & Charles has developed the first steam clean oven function.

For Steam Clean to work IT MUST BE ACTIVATED FROM A COLD OVEN - this is critical. The composition of the enamel dictates that the nominated amount of water from cold activated by heat for the temperature and time advised gives the right amount of steam for the right amount of time to activate the de-greasing characteristic of the oven enamel - the small amount of steam will get behind the grease on side walls and dislodge it ready for an easy wipe off. If, on the other hand, the Steam Clean cycle is activated in a still warm oven nothing will occur - that is because the small amount of steam generated from a warm oven is eliminated (dried) immediately and therefore does not get the chance to do it's job on the grease and stains.
